MicroTek, a global provider of on-demand business training and meeting solutions, is making holiday wishes come true this year for several youth living in group homes in DuPage County. MicroTek is working with ChildServ to provide a Holiday Celebration for children (ages 12-18) from group homes in Lisle, Naperville and Downers Grove.
More than 30 MicroTek corporate employees and executives have volunteered to support this fun event taking place on Tuesday, December 6. The celebration will include dinner, gifts, games and prizes for the teens and ChildServ staff.
Each year, MicroTek’s Downers Grove corporate office chooses a local charity to support. This is the second year that they have worked with Childserv. “Working with Childserv provides a wonderful opportunity to help a local organization where we can make a difference on a personal level. Our staff looks forward to this event where we are able to not just help these kids, but also interact and celebrate the holidays with them,” said Hugh McCullen, former MicroTek president.
ChildServ is a child and family services organization, providing community-based programs to underserved children and families in Cook, Lake and DuPage counties. ChildServ reaches 2,600 children and families each year with programs including foster care and adoption, group homes, child care, early childhood education and parenting support. ChildServ Group Homes serve adolescents age 12-19 who have not been placed in traditional foster care and for whom personal circumstances make it impossible for them to live with a parent. ChildServ’s structured, nurturing home environment provides well-rounded support for the emotional, educational and behavioral development of each adolescent resident.
